Ap Studio Art
All the art with in this section are paintings that were submitted for My Ap studio art class. And are not anywhere else on this site.
In this series I looked to explore the problems and imperfections we give ourselves when comparing to what society models for us to be like. By depicting insecure emotions and words within my art, I wish to express the conflict that people battle inside to overcome the illusions society has painted before them. Using my own personal experiences, and my own observations of others, I began to create this theme. Stepping out of my comfort zone I struggled to find new ways to portray this struggle. Within my series figures and environments were used to express the overall emotions of conflict and resolution. The environments went from textured backgrounds to expressive landscapes. At first my paintings felt like the interaction between subject and environment was missing.
Throughout my series, I eventually learned how to place my figures within my works so they would best express the emotion originally envisioned. Investigating and experimenting with my brushstrokes and color interpretation became natural to me. Eventually I began to understand how to incorporate my figures within my painting’s environment. I discovered that expressing my passion and emotion in my paintings was more important than making the perfect painting. Andrews
